LAURA & LIZ

LAURA

Laura is a mom to five incredible kids and wife to her amazing husband, Tony, a career firefighter. She is a proud Army veteran, and her civilian work history includes city government and corporate administration. When their youngest daughter was born with Down syndrome and a heart defect, they decided it was best for Laura to stay home to concentrate on Mara's health and development. Best decision ever!

Shortly before Mara's open-heart surgery, Laura stumbled upon infant massage and its benefits. She pursued her certification after Mara was recovered. Her oldest daughter, Liz, joined her on the adventure!

Laura's son, Eli, was born eight weeks prematurely. Being the mom of two NICU grads, Laura understands what it can be like to take care of babies who need a little extra attention after birth.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband (and sometimes the kids), camping with the family, and staying fit.

LIZ

Being significantly older than her siblings, Liz is no stranger to infant care and tending to their needs. She has probably learned the most since welcoming her youngest sister - including learning much of what goes into caring for a baby with additional needs.

When Liz's youngest sister, Mara, was born, she became inspired. Inspired to learn more about infants, parents, and anyone involved in a newborn's life. She knew she could change herself and possibly many others. This made Liz's decision to become a CEIM easy.

Liz believes all babies deserve the gift of massage, regardless of race and socioeconomic background.

Liz is the mom to her sweet one year old Bernese Mountain dog, Tsunade.

The role of the CEIM is to facilitate and enhance the loving relationship between infants + parents. Infant massage is an ideal medium, because it naturally encompasses all of the elements of the bonding process including eye to eye contact, warmth, scent, vocalizations, skin-to-skin, and responsiveness.
